Stuff of Nightmares is a stand-alone game that is fully compatible with the Gruff rules system and other Gruff games. Stuff of Nightmares provides the same visceral competitive experience as Gruff, but adds a new faction to the game, plushy nightmare goats called The Stuffkin!
We just entered the final hours of the Gruff pins campaign! This is the only opportunity outside of conventions to get one of these rad pins.
We are just over $50 away from unlocking the Zumberg pin stretch goal! If you would like to spread the word about the campaign please share this Facebook post.

Gruff: Rage of the Trolls has started arriving for Kickstarter backers! If you have not received a shipping notification, please double check your archived email folders to ensure that you completed your survey, so that we have a shipping address for you.
Several people that ordered the "Rage Tier" had their products shipped without the Rage-Red slider pack. If you did not get one of these slider packs, please reply to the Shipping confirmation email that you received from our logistics company "Ship Naked" and they will send you your missing component.
In other news I added a frequently requested feature to our Errata page. You can now see a list of recommended "Starting Star" cards for each gruff in our original game!

At Studio Woe we like to celebrate this time of year by making a holiday card that pays homage to some of the fun mythological beings of the season. This year we have the sinister but festive Krampus, who is taking a break from kidnapping naughty kids to shepherd some monster goats across The Betwixt (with maybe a little bit of murderous kidnapping thrown in for fun).
Krampus is our free gift to the community so feel free to print him out in include him in your gruff matches and tournaments! 6 new goats are coming to the world of Gruff! Lets take a look at who they are and what impact they might have on the game! Stay posted at the Kickstarter page for information on how to pre-order the game!
Lets start with Briggs, a battle hardened warrior goat! He features the new mechanic Fading. A condition Fades when it goes away naturally during your clean up phase. Briggs uses his veteran expertise to use that trigger to push his offensive capacities. Decks that bring Briggs will want to bring lots of cheap conditions like "Protect", "Headbutt", or "Charge" which will push him into the role of an end-game damage dealer very rapidly!
Up next is Squabbles! Squables has the unique distinction of having a very high starting Weird on an endgame damage-dealing gruff. He is the perfect compliment to shepherds like Brat and Capt. Stovell! He also likes to hand around with goats that can augment stats. The faster he can fill up his huge Mean potential the better!
I like to team up Squabbles and Briggs with Skreacher. He is a very aggressive tanky goat (enough to even give Gaptooth some competition!) He brings the pressure on turn one, but also has the tools to take back the tempo if it is taken from you!
If you need a gruff that will reliably provide you with the resources that you need consider taking Thump! In addition to his stable Weird growth he also provides more tools for getting deep into your deck than any other gruff in the game. Midrange and Combo herds are going to love to have him around!
Mr. Blight is a perhaps the ultimate Funkfiend. He gets easy synergy off of all of the mutations that Funkfiends love to play, and he also brings abilities that trigger off of mutations (like "Virulence"). Players will learn to fear his "Cranial Infestation" ability, a condition that deals direct damage to a shepherd equal to Mr. Blight's Weird score when the card Fades!
I think of Skwat as the Skullclan's version of Toof, but he is much more than a wall of Fat and a pretty face. He brings some seriously devastating direct damage as well as the most exploitable shepherd healing ability in the game!

Up first we have Brat, the driving force behind the invasion of the Greenspan! Just like her ability implies she is brash and aggressive, her high starting Crazy combined with her ability to gain Crazy when her attacks are fully blocked make he a great aggro shepherd. She is a little slower than Captain Stovell, but much more stable.
Up next is Conrey, the ultimate apprentice. Conrey has been talked about in the flavor text of Gruff for years, but he is finally coming into his own supporting Brat in her attempted conquest of the Funkfiend homelands. He takes after his mentor Gristle with the ability to fetch conditions out of his discard pile, but is much more flexible. He is just as useful in control decks as he is in aggressive situations!
Armiran comes to us from the Shepherd Tier of the Clash of the Battle Goats campaign. He is a wandering archaeologist trying to learn what he can about the now extinct* trolls. His ability to draw cards is of supreme value to control and combo decks. It can even be very functional for fast aggro decks ( like those who use Blastov) to find the damage dealing card that you need as quickly as possible!
Dr. Acrid is the genius behind the creation of the Funkfiends, he also is inadvertently responsible for creating the plague that destroyed his homeland and freeing the trolls. Basically, he likes to be selective about what he puts on his resume. Like Doc, he provides mulligan options on your very first turn. His partial mulligan is very strong when you know that there is a specific set of cards that you need in order to win the game.
Baba Haga was a powerful witch before the plague. When The Funk afflicted The Greenspan she embraced the change and became a soothsayer of sickness and disease. She has seen the future and has some bad news to share. Baba Haga provides a ton of synergy with Gruffs like Mr. Blight or Licky that have abilities that trigger when mutations come into play. Getting 3 nasty mutations all at once for free can be a very powerful effect in the right hands.

. . . ever closer, we can see them coming, a great hairy horde. We were growing ever more desperate to protect our home from the oncoming Grendel.
Once we discovered the secrets of the monstrous trolls, once we were able to contain them, we knew we could fight back. I tried various Crossroads devices to control the beasts, but to no avail, I knew we would go the route that the Skull Clan went, we would follow in the footsteps as the Cross Roads. We thought we could control the filth and funk of the Trolls.
It is all folly of course, now I know this, looking on the ruin of the Green, I understand beyond a shadow of any doubt, this is my doing. I alone carry the burden of fault, not only for the plague that I unleashed, but for the current apocalypse that the Rage brought with it.
Schnark was my first specimen, and it shows in the crude creation of the gruff I refer to as Thump. Then, I merely sliced apart the trolls before they could convert to stone, and grafting parts of them onto our poor goats. I thought this process may give our Gruff the capability to turn to stone, or impart some of the troll’s rage upon them. I started with Schnark’s heart, a huge organ in and of itself, the results were . . . tragic.
Thump, it was thump that was patient zero, and I wish I had destroyed it while I had the opportunity. When . . . it, began beating, as though still attached to the horrid troll, and sludge and funk began oozing from detached ventricles, I should have known that I had gone too far. But no, I had assumed that this would allow my studies and experiments to move faster, I did not understand how the contagion worked, not until . . not until my faithful companion Licky fell victim.
